BE HUMBLE

Today’s Joy Notes is a clarification of what is TO BE HUMBLE not the box others want humility to mean. Being humble is often misunderstood. Some view humility as a sign of weakness or inferiority, but true humility is rooted in strength and self-awareness. It stems from a clear understanding of one’s self-worth, where there is no need to seek validation or acceptance from others. Humility is not about diminishing oneself to make others feel better, nor is it about being a doormat for those around you.

Humble people have the confidence to acknowledge their strengths without feeling the need to boast. They are secure in who they are, which allows them to forgo petty arguments or the need to constantly prove themselves. This self-assuredness is key to humility—it’s not a statement of fear or insecurity, but a reflection of self-respect and inner peace. To be humble you’re curious and forever learning while living in gratitude.

True humility is also not about playing small or making oneself appear inferior to others. It is about recognizing the value in others without feeling threatened by their successes or abilities. Humble people can uplift others because they are secure in their own path.

In short, being humble requires a deep sense of self and an understanding that your worth is not defined by external praise or comparison. It is strength in restraint, wisdom in silence, and power in knowing when to act or speak. Humility is not about lessening yourself; it’s about being confident enough not to demand attention but own your worth.
